Job summary:
The Microsoft 365 Deployment Engineer is responsible for leading a team of deployment specialists planning, executing, and managing the deployment of Microsoft 365 solutions within our organization. They collaborate with IT teams, stakeholders, and end-users to ensure a smooth transition to Microsoft 365, enhancing productivity and collaboration. Expertise in Microsoft 365 Deployment, technical skills, licensing knowledge, and team leadership is essential. Familiarity with Google Workspace is advantageous.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and oversee a team of Microsoft 365 deployment specialists, providing guidance and technical expertise.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop deployment strategies for Microsoft 365 solutions.
3. Plan, coordinate, and execute the deployment of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams.
4. Assess existing systems and infrastructure, identifying prerequisites for Microsoft 365 deployment.
5. Configure Microsoft 365 settings to meet organizational needs, including user provisioning, security, and data migration.
6. Ensure compliance with Microsoft licensing policies and provide guidance on licensing requirements.
7. Integrate Microsoft 365 with existing systems and applications, such as Active Directory and single sign-on solutions.
8. Provide technical guidance and support to end-users during deployment, including training and issue resolution.
9. Develop and maintain deployment documentation and best practices for efficient Microsoft 365 deployments.
10. Stay updated on Microsoft 365 features and recommend enhancements to optimize the deployment process.
11. Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers for issue resolution and technical support.
12. Possess familiarity with Google Workspace and its deployment processes for cross-platform considerations.
13. Evaluate post-deployment effectiveness, gather feedback, and implement improvements.
14. Lead team meetings, provide performance feedback, and foster a collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
2. 2-5 years of experience in leading a team in deploying and configuring Microsoft 365 solutions in an enterprise environment.
3. Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration tools, PowerShell scripting, and deployment methodologies.
4. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams.
5. Experience in data migration and integration with Microsoft 365, including Active Directory and SSO integration.
6. Thorough understanding of Microsoft licensing policies and requirements.
7. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
8. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
9. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects.
10. Microsoft 365 certifications are preferred.
11. Familiarity with Google Workspace and its deployment processes is advantageous.
12. Experience with other cloud-based productivity suites is a plus.
